Where to get on/off?
The official place to get on and off the Restaurant Tram is at "Rond de Grote Kerk", on the tracks next to “De Grote Kerk” / Kerkplein, The Hague. At that location, it is safe to get on and off the Tram Restaurant without the hindrance of traffic. At least 15 minutes before departure, a host/hostess will be present there, and assist you in getting aboard the Hoftrammm.
What to do should I arrive earlier (than the agreed departure time)?
The tram will be ready and waiting 15 minutes before departure time at the appointed place. You are welcome to board the Hoftrammm 15 minutes prior to departure. You will then be welcomed with an aperitif.
Should you arrive well in advance of departure (or after the arrival) of Hoftrammm, in the immediate vicinity a variety of bars and restaurants may be found in which you may bridge the time and have a drink, cup of coffee etc. (Notice: these drinks are for own account. Hoftrammm Tramrestaurant has no (business) relationship with bars and restaurants).
What is the route?
There are several routes suitable for Hoftrammm, but the Tram restaurant dinner route will be: The Hague Centre – Scheveningen (Zwarte Pad) – Hollands Spoor - Scheveningen Harbour - City Centre.
Changes to the route may be caused as a result to traffic disruption etc.
How much does the package cost?
The all inclusive package includes:
- a dinner lasting in excess of 2-hour
- an aperitif and home-made bread
- an excellent 4-course dinner (created by Pierre Wind, a famous Dutch TV-Chef)
- matching and unlimited wine menus and mineral water (it is also possible to order a Special menu of The Hague beer or a non alcoholic arrangement). Note: given the limited space on board, there are no other beverages available.
The price for the fixed package deal is €77,50 (from September 1st €79,50).

The Hoftrammm may also be hired exclusively. Alternative days / times (and possible different boarding facilities) are possible after consultation.
Time of the Hoftrammm’s journey?
The journey takes an average of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Will my glass be knocked over during the journey?
No, your glass and other table ware should just stay on the table. The ride is comfortable and you can enjoy your dinner uninterrupted. However, you are on a moving tram so you will notice that the vehicle is in motion. This is what makes the Hoftrammm experience so unique!
Parking near the point of boarding?
Near the boarding location there is ample parking. There are three parking garages in the vicinity (within 5 minutes walking distance): - Q-park Torengarage (Geest 1, 213 VA, The Hague)
- Q-park City Parking (Laan 5-7, 2512 GM, The Hague),
- Q-park Grote Markt (Kalvermarkt 32 g, 2511 CB The Hague).

What kind of menu is on offer?
There is a 4-course dinner (consisting of fish and meat dishes). Do you prefer a vegetarian meal? Please, indicate this when making your reservation. Please mention any food allergies when you make your booking. Click here for the current menu.
How many employees are on board?
The tram driver, the Chef, an Assistant Cook, a maître and two to three waiters.
Restroom on board?
Yes. There is a restroom on board.
How many guests can dine in the Hoftrammm?
There are 44 seats on board.
Can the format (tables and chairs) be adjusted?
There is a fixed format and cannot be adjusted. Tram Restaurant Hoftrammm has 8 tables for four and 6 tables for two. To see the sizes of the tables, click here.
Booking of odd numbers?
If you would like to make a reservation of odd number (we aks a small fee for the free seat) please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can check the possibilities (depents on the reservations).

The tram is suitable for people with reduced mobility?
Given the fixed table layout, the Hoftrammm is to a lesser extent suitable for people with reduced mobility. For additional information, please contact via firstname.lastname@example.org
Are children allowed on board?
Unfortunately the Hoftrammm does not cater specially for (small) children and has no seats or additional facilities for them. There is NO special children's menu, so an "adults menu" should be ordered.
Is there airco and heating in the tram?
The Hoftrammm has heating via the brake system. The windows can be opened for extra ventilation.
Is there a cloakroom?
Of course, there is a (small) cloakroom. We recommend that you bring just what is strictly necessary, since the space on board is limited.
Reservations and payment?
Reservations are required and may be done quite simply through our website. There is no possibility to pay on board, because al payments are handled online.
